Our packaged plant room was initially developed as a transportable means of providing an off-site pre-constructed generator enclosure fitted out ready to ‘plug and play’; our bespoke containers can be used to house generators, CHP’s and boiler plant.
We have the capability and facilities to design and manufacture bespoke containers to house a variety of mechanical plant and electrical equipment, all designed to be lifted by crane. The ‘plant room in a box’ is an ideal solution for both refurbishment and new build projects. Our solution allows for the quick and easy replacement of existing plant with new more efficient low carbon technologies such as CHP or biomass.
Providing a cost-effective solution to having to build a new machine room on site our packaged plant will also assist in reducing construction programme times.
Our Sister Company Kimpton Acoustic Engineering recently designed and installed a series of packaged plant rooms for a district housing scheme in Aberdeen. It’s the latest of a whole series of these that we have created.
This latest unit is self-contained and has been designed to enclose eight gas-fired boilers, each of 150kW capacity, giving 1.2mW in total. They will provide heat for two large housing blocks, Fullerton and Murray Court. Whilst gas boilers are not inherently noisy in our everyday lives, if there were eight of them firing outside your bedroom window, in the dead of night, the noise would become a problem.
The acoustic packaged plant has been designed to make this noise significantly quieter for residents. It will achieve a noise reduction of Rw39dB.
