Winners at the Liverpool Chamber Awards

We’re absolutely over the moon to have scooped two awards at the 2023 Liverpool Chamber Innovation in Business Awards, in our 60th year! We are particularly pleased as the first was for Talent Development Award and the second, The overall Chairs Award! There’s a video of the evening below.

Back in 2019 we ran a series of workshops with our team and undertook a strategic review of how we operate as a business and the values that are important to us. This resulted in the development of our first Social Value and Sustainability Strategy that put social value and sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

This framework has allowed us to leverage, deliver, measure, record and evidence our social value activity alongside the delivery of our sustainability targets and Net Zero goals.

The framework is managed by our employee-led ESG Group. This covers every aspect of our business from the way we recruit to the way we manage our jobs in the field and has led to us working to deliver social value and sustainability throughout the business.

We are passionate advocates of apprenticeships and technical training so that we can encourage the next generation of into our industry, who as the Engineers delivering renewables and decarbonisation, are on the frontline in the race to Net Zero .

We believe that business is better when it also delivers economic impact through procurement, education, wellbeing and inclusion. We’re doing this by targeting our spending in the areas we work, by encouraging applications from all parts of our community, and by supporting colleges and schools with advice about careers within our industry.

We are committed to providing a supportive environment for our team that encourages learning, career development and innovation.

As a business, we know we’ve still got loads of work to improve the way we do business, but these awards are a wonderful way to recognise the efforts of the whole Kimpton Team who have so worked hard to get this far.
